My husband and I have been married for 12 years. One of the reasons we're still happily married is because we both like our routines and to stay within our comfort zones. So while I try things like speed skating, there are other things I won't budge on. Like our vacations.
I guess they were reading Peter Rabbit in Son No. 2's class this past week and aftewards the kids were presented with this worksheet to try to figure out what they would do to keep rabbits from coming into the garden if they were Mr. McGregor.
I don't even know where to begin except those bunnies are screwed if Son No. 2 ever learns about napalm
Today Son No. 2 held a Stuffed Animal Party in his room. The whole family was given tickets to partake in the fun that is stuffies. He had made a big 'Stuffed Animal Party' sign and had prepared plenty of activities to keep us busy - puzzles, books to read, a craft station and even snacks. Plus we were all given a ticket so Son No. 1 could cartoon each of us.
Son No. 1 is actually a very good drawer, and aside from the fact that I look like a slightly wasted member of the Beatles, my cartoon image seemed a little, shall we say, off.
On June 6th, a 15 year old girl named Alice Pyne started a blog. She's 15 years old and is dying of cancer - the blog is her bucket list.
Her list is a compilation of typical things all 15 year old girls want to do, 'have a private movie party with my BFFs', to things she's always wanted to do but is no longer able to because of the cancer.
Harto is the genius behind My Drunk Kitchen. I discovered her last week through the Huffington Post and then spent the next half hour watching all of her videos.
I’m okay with rainstorms, even downpours where the wipers can’t keep up with the torrents of water on the windshield. Blizzards don’t even really phase me anymore. It’s the cloudy days that do me in. Those are the days I grip the steering wheel until my knuckles turn white and every oncoming car is a threat. Loud noises cause adrenalin to course through my veins and I shush my kids more often than usual.
I’m fashionably challenged. That’s not to say I can’t look put together but the fact is, when it comes to style, I have none. Unless you count white t-shirts and black yoga pants as style, then I have lots of it – 14 and 7 respectively.
Yesterday I took the boys to my niece's birthday party. It was a swimming party and Son No. 1 and No. 2 were super excited to be hanging out in a pool for a few hours.
Turns out the pool had a three story slide. Both boys were adamant they wouldn't be going on it.
