Jane's Dining Room

ask the stylist

I am really excited to be launching a new series on my blog called, 'Ask the Stylist.' Each month, I will respond to a design dilemma from one of you. You provide the question, along with photos and other details, and I will put together a design plan right here on my blog. 

This first design dilemma comes from Jane. She wants new drapery, art and lighting for her dining room. The space is a blank slate with neutral-ish green chairs and dark maple table.

DIY Chevron Tray

This is the time of year when we all feed the need to be more organized. A great way to 'corral your clutter' is to use decorative trays throughout your home. They add colour and pattern and keep small every day items together in one place. I created this fabric covered tray for a recent Cityline segment. It now has a happy new home on my coffee table. For now, it holds flowers.

My Son's Big Boy Room

Gray, Blue and White All Over

I am not sure I am quite ready for this, but my baby boy is growing up. He is getting to big for his crib. Which means it is time to transform his nursery room into a Big Boy Room.

Although I am finding it hard to think about letting go of the crib and the art I made that hung on the wall for both boys as babies, I am excited about the vision I have for redecorating his room. I am in love with the idea of a gray, blue and white room, with a splash of yellow {his favourite colour}.
