It's no secret that I love IKEA. I have several IKEA pieces in my home and my marriage has survived many an allen key assembly. I even lugged a very heavy decor piece home from my days living in Stockholm because I could not bear to part with it.
I have an addiction to online décor magazines. I love the inspiration, the ideas and the gorgeous images. One of my new favourites is Pure Green Magazine.
Not only is it Canadian {yay!} it is dedicated to sharing stylish sustainable living and design ideas. You will find beautiful spaces, mouth-watering recipes, DIY projects, eco travel destinations and more, all with the purpose of living green.
I am a very nostalgic person. For me things are not just things. They have meaning, they tell a story. They hold memories. I have so many items from my childhood; I have my boys’ first outfits and their second and their third. But all of these things are tucked away in labelled bins in my basement. I want them out where they make me smile.
The only problem is: how do I display momentos in a pretty way? How do I make them not look like clutter?
I love using pattern in my home but I must admit I tend to be drawn towards simple repeated designs. One of my favourites is quatrefoil; this simple clover-like pattern is so pretty and can be seen in architectural details, decor and more.
Do you have a passion for all things pretty? Do you love talking interior design and decor trends? Are you super proud of your home? Then you have come to the right place!
March is decor month at YMC and we are looking for you to write articles.
