Vintage Décor Shopping

More Nova Scotian Decor Treasures

Vintage Décor Shopping

I took advantage of my boys’ nap time the other afternoon and went back to the shop where I found my first Nova Scotia treasures to take another look around and I found some more vintage loveliness. The prices are out of this world amazing.

Can you even believe it? I picked up the lamp base for my mom. It needs to be rewired, but $3.00? Wow. I seriously want it for myself! I saw the jug last time I was there and wasn’t sure. I am so happy I bought it this time though. I know just where I will put it. The frame was outside the building locked behind a fence in a covered porch. I spotted it from the car and I can’t wait to work some DIY magic on it!

I also picked up these pretty little crystal glasses. I hesitated because there are only 5 but I know I will find a use for them. Did you see the price?

I am still on the hunt for some silver trays, small crystal pitchers and more ironstone pitchers. My shopping partner {my mom} and I are doing some serious shopping next week, so I hope I will have some more fabulous finds to share with you, along with a list of must stop shops.

Beaching, Celebrating and Shopping

In One of My Favourite Corners of the World

Beaching, Celebrating and Shopping

I can’t believe that today marks two weeks into my holiday in Nova Scotia. We have had so much fun celebrating milestones, playing at the beach and, of course, shopping.

We are lucky enough to be a short walk from my mom’s house to a beautiful beach that we usually have all to ourselves. This is where you can find us almost every day.

Last week my husband and I got away overnight to celebrate our anniversary at White Point Beach Resort, where we got married five years ago. It was a short but sweet escape.

One of my favourite things to do when I come home every year is to shop for vintage décor. We found a shop, which is actually more of a cluttered warehouse that reminded me of the show American Pickers. It was packed with some amazing, and unusual finds. I think you could spend all day there and not see everything.

I got these four glass pieces for $20.00. Yes, more glass bottles. It’s an addiction.

This is one of my favourite corners of the world and I can’t wait to share more of it with you. Hope you are all enjoying your summer so far!

Going Home to Nova Scotia

Home Decor Finds With An East Coast Feel

Going Home to Nova Scotia

This past week we loaded up the boys and drove to the place I will always call home, Nova Scotia. There is no better place to be in the summer. This is where we spent our first morning:

Nova Scotia is one of my favourite places to shop for home décor, especially vintage and antiques. My mom and I found some amazing pieces yesterday that I will share in another post. Today, we went to Lunenburg. We go there every summer for the views, the food and the shopping. You can’t help but be inspired there.

Down Home Living is my absolute favourite spot to shop in Lunenburg. They offer handcrafted furnishing and décor with an east coast feel. I buy something there every time I come home to visit. I am in love with the Lunenburg Co. ice cream sign and am seriously thinking of going back for it when my husband is back in Ontario.

Stay tuned for more Nova Scotia posts. There are many more to come!
