It’s been two weeks since our kitchen reno started and it has been a great experience so far. I love the new cabinets and the storage is seriously life changing.
We are living without a sink or countertop right now but it is really not as bad as I thought it would be. Actually, I kinda love that I have an excuse not to cook so much.
Some final details are coming into place and I can’t wait until it is all pulled together. Our super cool Delta Pilar faucet arrived and I can’t wait to test out the touch activation technology. I picked out the slab for our Kashmir white countertop from Rock With Us and the special order hardware from Lowes is ready to be added.
Now all I need is a backsplash, window treatments, new floors and a message centre for over the desk area. OK, after actually writing that down, it seems like a lot. And I forgot to add light fixtures. And window trim. And paint touch ups.
So to sum up....there is still a hell of a lot to do.
BUT...when it is all said and done it will exceed my expectations and how great is that? Stay tuned for the reveal {including a breakdown of the budget!}.

My tips:
shop smart: buy gifts online, in large stores like walmart and in one or two trendy shops
make it personal: pay attention to the interests of everyone in your family and shop accordingly
develop a tradition: have one item in everyone’s stocking every year that is unique to your family. Thanks to a tweet by @PTPA, I got the idea to include a personal note from Santa for each member of the family. So easy and so special!
