It's difficult to make good choices while hungry. Grocery shopping on an empty stomach is a bad idea, and to me, so is deciding what to have for lunch. It's just too tempting to succumb to unhealthy takeout options when my stomach is growling and I'm snappy and crabby due to low blood sugar.

Oh, zucchinis. They are amazing vegetables, really they are. They are low calorie, high fibre, and full of vital nutrients, such as folate, potassium, and Vitamins A and C. In addition, as any gardener can tell you, they are easy plants to grow, with prolific yields and a habit of going from "not quite ready to pick" to "OMG this zucchini is gigantic" in 24 hours or less.
Here's the situation—it's 11:55 and you're hungry. Starving, even. You cannot stop thinking about lunch. Temptations abound; the takeout place around the corner is calling out its siren song of french fries and pizza by the slice.
Summertime eating is practically synonymous with barbequing; the evenings are warm, the sunsets are late, and the backyard is practically begging to be the new dining room. Beers, burgers, salads, and good friends are all that is required for a perfect evening.
