An Amazing Fast-Food Hybrid That You Will Flock to Again and Again

crunchwrap-supreme-recipe

Cooking dinner with the kids should never feel like a hassle. It should be fun. Sure, the kitchen may end up a little messier than it might have been had you not had little hands assisting you, but let's face it - the mess is worth seeing those proud, happy faces.

Tacos are one of those meals that many families love to enjoy on a regular basis. My family is no different. Each Tuesday, we sit down to enjoy our weekly taco night. However, we also like to up the ante from time to time and cook up some Homemade Crunchwrap Supremes; an amazing hybrid of a fast-food favourite. The Crunchwraps bring together all of the awesome toppings that one would normally dress their taco with, but adds a flavourful punch of queso and one heck of a crunch.

Ingredients

1 lb extra lean ground beef
1 pkg taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade taco seasoning)
1 jar nacho queso
1 small tub of sour cream
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 hot house tomato, chopped
1 cup Tex Mex or Mexicana Shredded Cheese
1 bag bite size round corn tortilla chips
1-pkg large tortillas

Directions

Cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain off fat. Add in taco seasoning and 2/3 cup water, simmer until all the liquid aborbs. About 10 minutes.

On a large tortilla, spread a couple tablespoons of your queso in the middle of the tortilla. Top queso with 1/4 to 1/3 cup ground beef. Place 4 or 5 round corn tortilla chips on top of the meat. Lightly cover tortilla chips in sour cream, and top with shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato.

Take a 1/4 of a tortilla shell and place it on top of all the ingredients and fold the sides of your shell over it.

You can cook your crunchwrap supreme one of two ways. You can cook it on medium heat on a George Foreman Grill  for 2-3 minutes until golden brown or you can place the crunchwrap supremes seam down in a frying pan and cook over medium heat, 1-2 minutes each side until golden brown.
