Pot-Au-Feu: French for "Make this Delicious Meal Tonight"

The Most Comforting Winter Meal Ever

This is a classic and the most comforting meal you can make in the winter season. It is really easy to prepare and it cooks slowly for hours while you can rest or do something else.

Pot-au-feu

Ingredients

(For 6-8 people)

1,2 kilos of beef shoulder

2 onions cut in half

1 small turnip cut in big chunks

6 carrots

6 potatoes

1/2 cabbage, quartered

1 cup of veal stock

1 cup of white wine

1 cup of water

A bunch of thyme

2 bay leaves and 1 teaspoon of juniper berries

Salt and Pepper

Directions

 Pre-heat the oven to 350F.

Put the meat, vegetables, stock, wine, and water in a roasting pan.

Season with the salt and pepper and add the herbs.

Cook in the oven for at least 3 hours, checking from time to time to make sure there is enough water in the pan. Liquid should always be close to 1/3 of the pan.

Enjoy!
