These are a big hit in my house, but the truth is I really make them for myself! They are the perfect little dessert bites, mostly healthy with a touch of chocolate to make them extra delicious.
They are easy to put together and make a light dessert snack for after school, after dinner or you can make a whole bunch for a party or a get-together. The almost-frozen banana has a rich and creamy texture, and adding a little crunch with toppings takes these little bites over the top. I like to make a big batch and keep them in the freezer, so I can take them out a little at a time whenever I need a little hit of something sweet.
Ingredients
4 bananas cut into 2 inch slices
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
assortment of toppings: chopped nuts, shredded coconut, crushed graham crackers, crushed pretzels, crushed candy, chopped dried fruit, granola
Directions
Freeze banana pieces on a baking sheet.
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Set on low for 30 seconds or until chocolate is melted through.
Arrange toppings in little bowls or on wax paper.
Dip banana pieces into chocolate and then dip into a topping or two.
Return to freezer until ready to serve.
Remove from freezer 15 minutes before serving. Allow pieces to thaw slightly before serving for the perfect banana texture.
Feel free to get creative with your toppings!
