Shania Twain to Testify by Video

Stalker Don't Impress Her Much

Shania Twain is hoping to testify later this month against her stalker remotely rather than in person at Toronto's Old City Hall.

Originally from Timmins, the Canadian country music superstar who now lives in Switzerland would testify by video against stalker, Dr John Palumbo.

The 51-year-old Ottawa doctor was arrested in March after turning up at the Junos to meeting her, despite a restraining order banning him from coming within 500 metres of the singer.

Criminal harrassment charges against Palumbo were dismissed at last year's trial when Twain failed to show. It's obviously in her interests to state her case this time around.

In the past, Palumbo has sent Twain flowers, shown up at her cottage, and even her grandmother's funeral, justifying his actions on the basis that he and Twain "would be family one day".

Palumbo denies having a disorder despite a psychiatric assessment finding his obsession with Twain to be "of delusional intensity". While in custody, he told Star reporter Curtis Rush that he's simply waiting for Twain to deny his advances herself, rather than "through her handlers".

For a man so obsessed, Palumbo's pretty slow on the uptake.  Obviously his moves don't impress Shania much. Let's see if a jail sentence gets the message across that she's just not that into him...
