Russell Brand Refused Clearance

Blame Canada

36-year-old British comedian, Russell Brand, made waves on the internet after tweeting that he was denied entry into Canada.

The Arthur actor told fans via Twitter that he'd have to postpone his show at Casino Rama in Orillia, north of Toronto, because Canada Customs had turned him away.

“I'm sorry. I can't enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations AND our minds,” he posted.

The rumour went viral in no time. But turns out, Brand was just joshing us. The real delay was down to problems with his private jet.

Oh, well then. In fact, it wouldn't have been the first time the performer is turned away from customs.

In May, Brand, the former heroin addict who has a slew of prior criminal convictions, was deported from Japan while visiting his pop singer wife Katy Perry on her Asian tour.

In the past, he's been charged with criminal damage and indecent exposure after stripping for May Day protests. He's also been arrested for allegedly attacking a photographer.

Will you or won't you grace us with your presence, Russell?
