Health Canada and the CPSC have jointly recalled various crib tents and play yard tents made by Tots in Mind, Inc. due to risk of strangulation and entrapment should the dome invert into the crib or play yard.
Although there are no model numbers for these products, they bore the logo (pictured) and were sold under the following names:
Portable Playard Tent
Original Cozy Crib Tent
Cozy Crib Tent II
Crib Tent for Convertible Crib
Portable Playard Tent Plus Cabana
In July 2012, Tots in Mind recalled the play yard tents and offered a repair kit. However, the kit is no longer available, and the company has since stopped trading.
While Health Canada has not received reports of incidents or injuries, customers are advised to immediately dispose of the tents.
From 2009 to May 2012, approximately 300 of the recalled tents and play yards were sold at various independent baby and children's stores across Canada.
