Every parent gets tired of answering the same questions, and doubly so for the parents of twins. A blogger named Annie Nolan was so fed up that she jokingly placed two posters on her daughters' strollers to ward off the usual suspects:
"As a twin mum, you get asked a series of questions/hear a series of statements EVERYTIME you go out," she wrote on her Facebook page.

And even though Nolan took the time to add a "just joking" post-script - and even though she "chickened out" and took off the signs before she boarded the subway - that didn't stop the jury from delivering their verdict.
Some thought it was a good opportunity to remind Nolan that she is "blessed" for having twins in the first place, and how dare you because some women can't have kids, you know; while others didn't approve of her language, not one bit.
Still others stooped to calling her names, because the internet is nothing more than an extension of the playground.
So she made a joke. You can laugh if you want to - if you find it funny or if you can relate to the sentiment just a wee bit when you had your own babies.
Laughing is not obligatory, of course. But then again, neither is getting offended by something innocuous that you happen to find on Facebook.
I didn't have twins, but I can imagine the cliches get old fast. I had a big butterball of a baby and he was bald as a coot, so yeah, I got an earful.
Most days you are polite. You chat animatedly with strangers. Other times you just don't have the stomach for the same old lang syne.
