In the Halloween spirit yet? Well, celebrities are, but it seems they too are sometimes guilty of a colossal costume fail. Julianne Hough is a prime example.
Hough clearly thought it would be fun and flattering to don a 'blackface' as part her favourite character, Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren, from Orange is the New Black at a Halloween party.
Needless to say, pretending to be another race isn't cool—ever—even if you are just doing it as a mark of idolatry for Orange actress Uzo Aduba.
Cue the 25-year-old Safe Haven star's public apology on Twitter via Jezebel:
"It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
Looks like it's candy corn in the corner for Hough and Prince Harry from now on...
What do you think of Hough's outfit? Deeply offensive or homage to a TV character?
Has Halloween become just an excuse to wear a racist get-up, or has political correctness turned us into a bunch of party poopers?
