Could You Stop Shaving Once And For All?

Baby, We're Born this way

Could You Stop Shaving Once And For All?

We're born hairy. It's a fact of nature, a losing battle that we keep on fighting. But could you embrace your hirsuteness and ditch the razor for good? Paloma Goñi has. In an article in the Huffington Post, the Spanish writer explains why her loathing of hair removal drove her to stop shaving once and for all.

We may be a hairy bunch, yet that doesn't mean we are comfortable with letting our underarms turn into unkempt forests. So why do we do it? Societal pressure has some bearing, sure, but is it more than that?

I admit it. I've gone whole weeks leaving my leg hair to grow wild under the cover of winter. When no one would have to lay eyes on the dark sprouts shooting up all over my calves...

But what to do in summer? And what if you live in a warm climate like Málaga, as Goñi does. Her boyfriend doesn't seem to mind her shaving boycott, yet recent hairy tight experiments prove that the general public is more than a little repulsed by skirted women donning hairy legs.

Many European women don't shave their armpits as a matter of course. Big deal. Have you ever gone on a no-shaving bender? What was the reaction? I personally like the feel of smooth legs and wouldn't be caught dead with more than a day's growth on my legs and pits during hot months.

Would you still wax or shave if you didn't feel pressure to do so? Do you, like Goñi, regard not shaving as a female taboo?
