One-Pot, Lazy Cabbage Rolls

A Comfort Food Favourite Made Over For Busy Weeknights

One Pot Lazy Cabbage Rolls

I've always loved cabbage rolls, but I've never actually made them. Why? Because spending my time wrapping each individual cabbage roll seems like a heck of a lot of work, especially for something that is readily available at my local market. The funny thing is, my kids don't actually like their cabbage rolls in nice neat bundles, and when I heat theirs up, I put them in bowls and cut them up making the perfect rolls into a sloppy mess.

Holiday Mimosa

In our house, Christmas morning has always been accompanied by a bottle of Homemade Baileys Irish Cream for the coffee and a pitcher of Mimosas. While the typical Mimosa is one part orange juice and one part sparkling wine, this Christmas Morning Mimosa adds a little seasonal flavour to make the perfect present opening beverage.

Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate

Perfect For Any Cold Weather Get Together

Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate

Every year, we host a Christmas party for my now-ten-year-old daughter and her friends. This year she asked if they could go caroling in the neighbourhood, then come back to our house for hot chocolate and treats. It sounded like a pretty reasonable request, only with the weather we've been having, I knew the hot chocolate would need to be ready, waiting, and hot as soon as they walked in the door from their caroling adventures.

Red Velvet Cake Balls

Using a Mix Makes This Fancy Dessert Come Together In A Flash

Red Velvet Cake Balls

Yes I know — I used Cake Balls and Fancy Dessert in the same title... but it's true! Cake Balls or Cake Pops (if you choose to add some sticks) are not just for the kids. Especially when you make them as decadent as these Red Velvet ones.

Simply mix your cake batter.

Bake your cake.

Cool your cake.

Mixed Herb Roasted Chicken Recipe

An Easy, and Delicious Weeknight Dinner With Club House Bag'n Season

I don't think any of you would be surprised to learn that I like Club House seasonings, gravy mixes, baking products, and spices as much as the next girl but I'm not going to lie when I tell you I was a wee bit unsure about making dinner in a bag. So when I was offered the opportunity to try the Club House Bag'n Season Mixed Herb Chicken mix, I truly had my doubts.

Celebrating Fall And Everything Pumpkin in Halton

Get Inspired By Exoloring Food, Drink, and Pumpkins Along Halton's Pumpkin Trail

Halton Pumpkin Trail

When the cool autumn air begins to set in and the trees begin to turn colour my mind automatically goes to getting my family outside in warm sweaters to enjoy the sights and smells of fall and of course the comfort foods to warm us up when we come inside.

The launch of Halton's first ever Pumpkin Trail gave me an opportunity to do just that!

Yes, That's Right I Said BEET Cake

Chocolate-Apple-Beet-Cake
I recently signed up for an organic produce delivery service right to my front door and this week my delivery included a bushel of beets and a bushel of apples. Blessings In A Backpack

An Organization Dedicated To Feeding Food Insecure Children And Their Families

As a mom, I have deep-rooted empathy and heartbreak at the idea of children going hungry. Whether it's in third world countries or in our own school district, the idea of a child's tummy grumbling and a parent not having the ability to feed him or her makes my heart ache.

As a food blogger, I know how lucky my children are to be exposed to new and (hopefully) yummy recipes on a regular basis.

Recipes That Pair Perfectly With Milk

Milk goes well with more than just cookies

Recipes That Pair Perfectly With Milk

"Some things just go better with milk Mom," my five-year-old son told me last night. I had just put dinner in front of the kids and had simultaneously asked them what they wanted to drink while reaching in the fridge for the milk that wasn't there.

I had forgotten it, of course. In my post-work-pre-kid-pick-up mad dash through the grocery store, I had grabbed the things we needed for dinner and forgot the milk — in my defense it is always in the very back corner of the grocery store and so easily forgotten.

Breakfast Popsicles Recipe

You'll Be The Coolest Mom On The Block When You Serve These For Breakfast

I'm not going to lie — as a full-time-work-outside-the-home-mom breakfast often involves me tossing a few granola bars at my kids while we make a mad dash for the car. That's why I try really (really!) hard to come up with creative, make-ahead breakfast ideas that are not only healthy but are things my kids will actually eat without complaints (because complaints take time in the morning we just don't have). This week we tried something new we now fondly refer to as Breakfast Popsicles and if I told you my kids L-O-V-E-D them it would be an understatement.
