Cake Batter Cookie Bars Recipe

Four Ingredients And Less Than Five Minutes Of Work Barely Qualifies As Baking

These Cake Batter Cookie Bars take no time at all, are made with pantry staples and are always met with applause from my children and my husband. Of course, by applause I mean thumbs up and "this is so good" coming from mouths full of cake cookie deliciousness. Also, I can barely call this baking because this recipe is so easy. Honestly, these are even easier than making Rice Krispies treats and are perfect for lunch box treats and school party potlucks.

Simply dump all of your ingredients into one bowl.

Mix.

Add some chocolate chips (or M&Ms).

Spread into your baking dish.

Bake.

Glaze.

Cut and serve.

Ingredients:

1 420g box of cake mix (I used Confetti but Yellow or White would work too)
2 eggs, beaten
5 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 to 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (or M&Ms)

Optional Glaze:

1/2 cup icing sugar
2 Tbsp. water

Add cake mix, eggs and butter into large mixing bowl. Mix with wooden spoon until well blended.

Add chocolate chips and mix until blended.

Spread into buttered 9 x 13 baking dish and bake in pre-heated 350F oven for 20 minutes.

Let cool in pan (I put pan on rack).

When cooled, mix icing sugar and water until smooth. Using fork, drizzle onto cookie bars. Allow to harden either on the counter or in the fridge for 5-10 minutes.

 Cut and serve.
