Ecards For Dummies

Cards (the greeting kind) for Cards (the jokester kind)

I come from a family of cards. We're rarely serious. When it comes to marking special occasions, I don't think I've ever bought a sappy or sentimental card in my life. It's all about the novelty greeting card. Find the ugliest, most ridiculous, cheesy card and I'll happily put my (hall)mark on it.

Take this card my mom bought for my brother's birthday last year.

The resemblance is kinda eerie don't you think? Thank goodness my brother is such a good sport because the "Paging Dr. Phalanges" jokes were flying fast and furious.

If there's one lesson my parents taught us it's this: "If  you can't laugh at your family, who can  you laugh at?"

And so the cards (the greeting kind) for cards (the jokester kind) are exchanged year after year.

But what if you can't find a suitable greeting card? Something that really sticks it to a friend or loved one? Not to worry. You can make your own!

You've probably already seen the popular "Some Ecards." Hilarious. Did you know you can actually create your own?

Just log onto the site, click "Create Your Own," select a category, choose an image, type in your desired text, choose the background colour and save. You can create a free (yes FREE) account to save all of your card creations to print or send by email.

Feel free to send me a card anytime. The sillier, the better. :)

PS. For the record, I do create the occasionally serious card, like these homemade Thank You notes.
