Easy Weeknight Meal Solutions

I am always on the hunt for easy, delicious, and nutritious meals to serve my family.

After recently having my third child, the “easy” factor has become even more important—it's an absolute necessity!

The new Club House Bag'n Season, luckily, have come into my life at the perfect time. The package comes complete with a dry sauce mix pouch and a roasting bag and I love that all three flavours have no trans fat, no artificial colours or flavours. All you have to do is add in your chicken and chopped vegetables—a perfect dinner solution that fulfills all of my requirements!

There are three Bag'n Season mixes to choose from—Mediterranean Chicken, Mixed Herb Chicken and Paprika Chicken. Each flavour comes with recommended vegetables to complement the flavours of the seasoning. Are you noticing the easy theme here?

I tested all three in my kitchen.

Mediterranean Chicken Seasoning Blend

This blend mixes the flavours of tomatoes, garlic, and basil that go so well together. Basil, known as the tomato's best friend, can be found in over 160 varieties and is usually added at the end of cooking because heat destroys its flavour. However, in this mix, all flavours can be added at the same time. Combining Roma tomatoes, chopped red onions and quartered white mushrooms, along with boneless chicken breasts and the seasoning pack, gives this dish the flavours of eating at your favourite Italian restaurant.

Recommended addition: Sprinkle feta cheese on the chicken and vegetables after it comes out of the oven.

Recommended side dishes: Fresh focaccia, a simple pasta, or a rice salad—all of which would soak up the delicious sauce.

Mixed Herb Chicken Seasoning Blend

The Mixed Herb Chicken blend is a classic mix of rosemary, basil and tomato flavours, reminding you of the roast chicken you had for Sunday dinner as a child. Rosemary, thought to improve memory, muscle pain, immune function and the circulatory system since ancient times, gets its name from the Latin words "ros" and "marinus," meaning dew of the sea. While the evergreen needles of rosemary can be strong tasting, in the Mixed Herb Chicken seasoning, rosemary is mixed with basil and tomato equally so it is not overpowering. Mixing boneless, skinless chicken breasts and the mixed herb seasoning with cubed potatoes, carrots and onions makes it a complete meal.

Recommended side dishes: Herb roasted potatoes, smashed potatoes, or roasted parsnips.

Paprika Chicken Seasoning Blend

This was the fan favourite at our house!

It is made with paprika, garlic, and parsley seasonings. Paprika, a deep red, mild sweet spice gets brown with long cooking times giving this dish a beautiful deep red colour. Made from ground bell and chili peppers, people often associate paprika with Hungary but it is also found in foods from Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Morocco. Mixing boneless, skinless chicken breasts with the seasoning, wedges of red onions, and red and yellow bell peppers make this dish a combination of mild and sweet flavours. The subtle smokiness of the paprika combined with the sweetness of garlic gives this dish tons of flavour.

Recommended side dishes: Spanish rice, saffron rice or a couscous salad with roasted vegetables.

When pressed for time or just looking for an easy weeknight dinner that can be prepared quickly, the Club House Bag'n Season will guarantee a tasty dinner that is seasoned perfectly. Just take a few minutes to prep your ingredients and then get other things done or spend time with your family while your meal is cooking.

And clean up couldn’t be easier. Just remove the bag and throw it away!
