If you’ve been reading the entertainment sites (please say you have) you might have noticed that Penélope Cruz and Johnny Depp have been attending premiere after premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. If you’re a Pirates fan you are no doubt thrilled that this movie is opening very soon, this weekend to be exact, on May 20th! And if you’re a Pirates fan you will also be thrilled to know that you can win your very own Pirates prize pack from me!
Now I’m not sure how this happened but I’ve only seen the original Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I have to say, I loved it so I’m not sure how I missed the other sequels especially since I try not to miss anything that involves Johnny Depp. Hopefully I’ll get out to the theatres to catch this one, and maybe bring my kids along too!
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES follows Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) as he finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penélope Cruz) forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane). Sounds like the perfect movie for me (did I mention Johnny Depp?!), my husband (Penelope Cruz is a mermaid) and the kids (uh – it’s about Pirates!). You can check out the trailer here!
Did you know that Penélope Cruz was pregnant while filming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides? Her sister, Monica, acted as her body double in scenes where they needed full body shots! I love knowing little bits of trivia like that when I go to see a movie – meaning when we go see it I will be sitting in the theatre watching intently trying to figure out what shots are Penélope and what shots are Monica! That is when I’m not ogling Johnny Depp.
