As you may or may not have noticed over recent weeks/months, I've been blogging just a bit less. Between this here blog, the work I do with countless small businesses, and my own budding business, This Little Piggy in Toronto, my life is shifting. I got rid of my cable TV early this year, and wouldn't have time to go to the movies even if I really wanted to.
So, I've decided that it's time to say goodbye to YMC and change course a bit. I love change. It's scary and what-if filled and sometimes nerve wracking, but it's important for personal growth. And I'm growing. When I started writing for YMC in 2012, I had a 15-month-old baby, a job at a prominent charity, and had loads of time to write this blog. It was awesome. In the 26 months since, I've had another child, opened a business and started working on different writing pieces.
I've had so much fun writing this here blog, meeting cool people, doing fun interviews and the like, but I've got to spread my wings! I'm so proud of all the work I've done, and all that I've written.
If it wasn't for YMC, I wouldn't be able to say that I've guested on a national morning show.
If it wasn't for YMC, I don't know that I'd be able to say that I've been published in the Huffington Post.
If it wasn't for YMC, I wouldn't be able to say that I've met The Wiggles, Chris Murphy, Jessica Alba, and more.
If it wasn't for YMC, I'm not sure I could truly say I would have found my voice in such a way, but I have, I did and it's been awesome.
So, thanks to everyone for all the support over the last few years! I wasn't sure how I was going to be received here, but it's been really great. I'm not going to stop writing, and have a few tricks still up my sleeve. I hope you're following me on twitter (@kitten_arms) so we can stay in touch, and thanks so much for reading!

Ok, here we go again! Former Real Houswife Bethenny Frankel tweeted out a photo of her in her 4-year-old daughter's pajamas and the tweet was met with instant backlash, harsh criticism and personal attacks. Basically, once the photo went out (Frankel herself sent it), the responses ranged from, "what is wrong with you?" to "you are doing a great disservice to your daughter who may not be the same genetic make up as you and think that she needs to fit into an intense beauty ideal!"
I say we should all back up for a minute. Yes, Bethenny Frankel is intensely skinny. Yes, she owns a brand called Skinny Girl. Do I think for one second, however, that she put her daughter's clothes on to showcase her body, to shame her child or anything else? Nope.
I think, (as Frankel said later) that her daughter asked her to put on her pjs for a laugh. And she did. She actually looks pretty ridiculous, no?
I used to have a photo of our own Kat Inokai in one of Henry's sweatshirts. It was nothing but comedy.
I guess it's a slow news week and we're looking for someone to pick on. I mean, I do ridiculous stuff with my kids all the time, just don't have tens of thousands of twitter followers to track my every dumb move. If I could put H's clothes on for a laugh, I certainly would. And like the meme says:

As society changes, and we get to experience new things, new issues crop up. Open adoptions, blended families and surrogacy all help grow families. Surrogacy can sometimes slide into a slippery legal slope as biological parents and surrogates may change their minds. This is the case for View co-host Sherri Shepherd and her ex-husband Lamar Sally.
Things are so messy, it's taken me some time to actually get everything in this drama straight.
Here's the deal: Sherri and Lamar divorced earlier this year, and that divorce wasn't without its drama. However, at the time of their divorce, they'd already hired a surrogate to carry a baby for them. Now, Lamar is suing for full custody of the baby that Sherri claims she does not want to parent and that she was tricked into having. Sherri is basically claiming that Lamar is a gold-digger and it was his intention to rope her into having this child in order to ensure that he would get money from her in child support. Sherri is claiming she never really wanted the child and this was all an elaborate ploy.
My head is reeling.
As if divorce wasn't hard enough, throw this into the mix. I don't even know what to feel about it, and have a hard time imagining not wanting a child, but I guess that Sherri really feels put upon, and perhaps that the child isn't actually hers. What upsets me, though, is that this baby is going to enter the world with so much negativity surrounding her. And if Sherri is right, that the baby was conceived as a ploy, well, that's just terrible.
What do you think? Do ulterior motives play a part in the decision to have a child? I guess this happens fairly regularly, but with the use of a surrogate?
