All About Kimye: This Year's Most Loved/loathed Nuptials!

Kim and Kanye tied the knot this past weekend but at least one person wasn't happy

All About Kimye: This Year's Most Loved/loathed Nuptials!

This past weekend, while we were all outside (I hope), the Kim Kardashian/Kanye West wedding happened in Florence, Italy. The star-studded event was hosted at a fortress rented by the millionaires for the event. Photos of Kims dress started circulating Saturday afternoon here in Toronto, and by Sunday, everyone had seen all the Instagramming, photoboothing madness.

But it seems like not everyone was very happy. Check out my vlog for a reaction to the wedding I wasn't expecting!

Even through all this, at least some reporters have a sense of humour. The New York Post's wedding announcement really took the cake!

What do you think of Kimye? Are you glad the wedding is over so that all this talk of their weddingbabe/them will go away, or do you love them?

Star Wars Casting News: You Could Be In Episode 7!

Winning's as easy as supporting UNICEF

Star Wars Casting News: You Could Be In Episode 7!

JJ-Abrams

In news that's actually got me at least 10% more excited about Star Wars Episode 7, director JJ Abrams announced today that they will be giving away a prize for one lucky fan to be flown to Abu Dhabi and be put in costume to be a part of the new film. All you have to do is donate $10 to UNICEF's Innovation Labs and Programs

This New initiative (A Force For Change) was instituted by Disney, who has committed $1 million dollars to this awesome charity that works in many countries helping in many new and innovative ways, for anything from helping feed the hungry to school programs. Fans have until July 18th to enter, but make sure that your country supports this kind of contest. I, for one, will be donating. Could you imagine if I won?

Here's the video Abrams made on set to announce the contest and charity:

Neat, eh? I really like that there was a man in a puppet suit rather than nothing but background in this film. It bodes well and looks like this might be less CGI filled than episodes 1-3.

This whole thing was a very VERY smart plan from whoever at UNICEF or Disney came up with it. Star Wars fans are very giving, as you may know, and I love this whole thing. We're definitely entering the contest, will you?

Is Lil' Kim's Baby Shower Request Over The Top?

Would you buy a baby gift for your favourite celebrity?

Is Lil' Kim's Baby Shower Request Over The Top?

lil-kim-registry

So, I assume most of us had some semblance of a baby shower (maybe even against our wills!), but I'm also sure none of us ever requested non-invited guests to bring gifts....right?

Well, it seems like we aren't quite as famous as rapper Lil' Kim, who last week released her 5 (FIVE!) registries to her fans via Instagram last week—from Babies R Us to Tiffany & Co! Kim's people claim that her fans were asking what they could give her for the baby, and instead  of "nothing," which is what I assume a normal human would say, she went ahead and let them know that she was registered for loads of high-end things at stores like Petite Tresor.

Some of the items on the registry included a $125 piggy bank, a $450 high chair, a $1,500 crib, and a nearly $8,000 stroller. While buying those types of things for my kids to poop and barf on is mind boggling to me in any circumstance, the idea that someone would ask total strangers to purchase them is just beyond.

I know that every person affords what they can, but I'm a practicality girl and there's not a lot on these registries that seem practical. But I'm not a celebrity, just a celebrity writer, so who knows? Maybe that $200 Peretti heart baby brush IS better than the little soft bristle I would buy at the shop.

What do you think about this sort of thing? Do you think it's OK for a celebrity to release a registry like this?
