Reese Witherspoon Was Arrested!

A drunk driving husband, mouthing off to cops & all the stuff you wouldn't expect from her

In the "I can't believe it" files: Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth got pulled over last night in Atlanta because a police officer said that the car husband Toth was driving, was swerving in and out of traffic. Allegedly, Toth looked and smelled horrible and the officer decided to give him a feild sobriety test. While this was going on, Reese got "mouthy" and after the officer told her to, "sit on (her) butt and be quiet," she got very unfriendly.

As the report details, “Mrs. Witherspoon asked, “Do you know my name?” I answered, “No, I don’t need to know your name.” I then added, “right now.” Mrs. Witherspoon stated, “You’re about to find out who I am.” The report also specified, “Mrs. Witherspoon also stated, ‘You are going to be on national news.’ I advised Mrs. Witherspoon that was fine.”(via Dlisted)

After this exchange, Jim blew a .139 on a breathalyzer and Reese was arrested for disorderly conduct. They were both released on bond a few hours later.

Reese is currently in Atlanta filming a movie.

While I am all for blowing off steam...drunk driving? Reese has three kids! What sort of example is this setting for them—or others—who look up to her? I'm not even going to talk about her "image" as a good girl, because I find those labels to be so silly, but just the sheer insanity of getting behind the wheel of a car while THAT intoxicated?

Thankfully, the kids weren't in the car with them, but they could have hurt themselves or someone else.

If you're into that sort of thing, you can see Reese's mug shot over at the Fox5 Atlanta Twitter feed

Since her arrest Saturday night, Reese has formally apologized to the public, saying "I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behaviour.”

So, Spill it! What do you think of Reese's arrest and subsequent apology?
