Justin Timberlake's Response to the Homeless Video

I was certainly surprised by this one.

So, as I'm sure you're already aware, JT and Jessica Biel got married two weeks ago, but the big buzz was around a supposed video shown at the wedding. Well, Justin was quick to react and his response was surprising.

On his website, JT has published a letter apologizing for the tasteless video, he has assured us that it wasn't shown AT the wedding and said he felt the need to take personal responsibility for the video—even though he didn't ask for it or make it. Upon first reading, I really felt like it was an "I'm sorry you got offended" type apology as opposed to "I'm sorry this happened" and it totally rubbed me the wrong way. But, my friends all chimed in on Twitter (bless you) and I think the problem I really have with it is that he shouldn't have had to apologize at all.

He didn't make it, didn't ask for it and certainly didn't need to apologize for it.

At the end of the letter, JT throws in a little post script: "P.S. You can bet your ass that I'm having my friend do at least 100 hours of community service...BOOM."

I think this should have been what the letter was about. Not about taking responsibility for this jerk's actions, but about how Justin thinks it's important that his friend learn from his mistake and go work with homeless people. Maybe even the same people he took advantage of.

Although, I must say, I love the fact that Justin is making his friend do the service. I hope we get an update on the guy's time.

So, spill it! What do you think of JT's apology?
