It's been a while since This Hour Has 22 Minutes was appointment viewing for me, but there's a new reason to really enjoy the satirical news tonight: Kelly Oxford will be on the desk.
Besides being a very funny woman who is from Alberta (valuable and further proof to those of us with dreams of bright lights and little gold men that the great equalizer of the internet can actually make those dreams a reality) Oxford pretty much owns Twitter (follow her @kellyoxford). Oh, and she wrote the hilarious Everything is Perfect When You're a Liar, just sold a movie to Warner Brothers and is also a mom.
So, you know, she really needed a gig.
Oxford's particular blend of confessional and self-deprecating humour goes beyond "look at me, I'm so ridiculous" and she doesn't save all the deprecation for herself. Anything and anyone she encounters in her life are fodder for comment, from her own clothes to flying with Air Canada.
