A Mother's Lament

Why are we still struggling for equality in 2016?

family and feminism

This one goes out to all the moms. Whether you’re a stay at home mom, a work at home mom, a work outside the home mom, or maybe all of the above! Despite the fact that it is almost 2017, moms everywhere are still under incredible pressures to be and do all. Moms still get judged for every little failure, while Dads are praised for the smallest contributions.

Apps for marking baby milestones

Shopping for a baby book was one of my favourite things to do when I was pregnant. I loved looking through my baby book with my Mom, and imagined having the same ritual with my children. Always looking for an excuse to spend hours in a bookstore even before I was pregnant, I scoured the shelves, flipping through book after book until I found the one that was just right for my precious bundle.

Four ways to calm the chaos while keeping your deadlines in check. | YummyMummyClub.ca

There are many things I love about being a WAHM (that's work at home mom, for those in the know). There is almost never a traffic jam in my commute (unless I have to go anywhere near the bathroom - one is just NOT enough for 4 people)! Every day is casual Friday, and yes casual means pyjamas and/or a bathrobe.  Plus I can multi-task with the best of them, getting in a load of laundry, a quick workout and catch up on my latest Netflix addiction all on my lunch break! All of those perks start to lose their shine once summer rolls around, though.

This scene is a common one for parents...you're outside enjoying a beautiful day playing in the sun with your kids when a you hear a blood-curdling scream. The culprit? A bee has flown too close to the action, scaring your little one. Sound familiar? Many kids have some level of apprehension around bees and other insects, but they play such an important role in our lives.
