For the 3rd year, YMC members and bloggers and our families are heading to Ottawa to celebrate Winterlude. It's a combination of freezing outdoor activities mixed with cozy indoor fun and a chance to connect face to face with virtual friends who you blog and tweet with. This is about as formal an invitation as you're going to get. This family day weekend is really a smattering of organized and disorganized fun. So show up with or without kids, preferably with a bottle of something in your hands, and let's play!!

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18
10:30 AM Skating on the Rideau Canal Skateway. (Note: Sharon DeVellis will be the blogger with the awesome butt racing along the canal on her speedskates. I will be there falling on my well-padded butt)
1:30 PM A family-friendly afternoon at Snowflake Kingdom. Dress warm and get ready to play in the snow.
5:00 PM YMC Dinner at the Lone Star Texas Grill

Come and learn the basic techniques of ice carving with professional ice carvers. Tools and safety goggles will be provided. (ages 8 to 12)

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20 –
1 - 4 PM Old Navy at the Rideau Centre will turn into the Funnovation Imaginarium, a place devoted to the imagination where the whole family can have tons of fun while being super creative - together!
Hosted by Loukia Zigoumis, activities include dancing on the Funky Floor, strutting your stuff on the Crazy Catwalk, and inventing new kinds of machines, creatures and fashion accessories in the Funnovation Lab. There will also be a Kooky Cookie and Juice Bar. For parents, a special discount for purchases over $50, and a swag bag will be available while supplies last.
