I get all kinds of questions from clients, Belly Bootcampers and readers, but my favourite questions of all are from my family and friends. I’ve learned from experience that no one wants the personal trainer in the family to “suggest” diet and exercise improvements they might make... So, when a relative or friend asks my advice I’m always stoked.

How to Hang On To Your Weight Loss

Last week I spent most of my time being vomited and pooped on, and cleaning/laundering other things which had been vomited and pooped on. Let’s just say it wasn’t one of my high points. Both Sweaty Baby & Sweaty Kid came down with some terrible, head-spinning-360-degrees, Exorcist kind of sickness.  That's Sweaty Kid to the left... I pretty much didn’t leave the house for almost 96 hours and could barely get hand to mouth to feed myself, resorting to quick carbs and cup after cup of coffee.

Upside? I lost a pound or two.

A Six-Pack Is So Much More than Just Crunches

Whenever I have a smaller Belly Bootcamp class - when mommies are away sick or on vacation - I'll often give the mommies attending the chance to request which areas of the body they'd like to work.

When I begin working with a personal training client who is focused on fat loss and firming up, I'll ask for details on which areas of the body she would most like to change.

The most requested body part: abs.

Ouch!  My legs hurt today!  It's not every day that my own Belly Bootcamp classes hit me so hard I'm actually sore for a day or two... but it happens sometimes when I've crafted a particularly effective combination of exercises to target a specific part of the body.

In this case: quadriceps (the muscles of the front of your thigh) and adductors (the muscles of your inner thigh).
