So on Sunday night, while I was watching the Super Bowl halftime show, it occurred to me that Bruno Mars was a mere six years old when the song "Give It Away," by the RHCP (and holy crap Anthony Kiedis—minus the porn star 'stache looking blazing hawt for 51, yes 51) came out (mind blown). So to lessen the blow of my feeling *&^%$# old, I decided that a flashback to simpler times was in order.
Today is all about indulging in something mindless and fun.
I spent the last couple of days going through my iPod, my "favourites" files on my Soundcloud account, and on my YouTube page and decided that a year-end review of all my favourite things—musically speaking—was in order. A totally self-serving post I know, but that's how I roll.

True, the task of picking a list of favourite songs from 2013 is entirely subjective, but this is a music blog and a review of the songs that made up 2013 is pretty much mandatory.

The thing I love to do most is gathering with friends for a great dinner—sharing laughs, stories, drinking great wine, all set to great music playing in the background. I live for making those dinner party playlists. Shocking revelation by me, I know.
Just a few weekends ago, I had girlfriends over for a 'let's make dinner and drink wine together' party. It was a girls night out, except we stayed in. And the best part? Comfy track pants were a dress code requirement.

He has been dominating the Canadian Country Charts over the last few weeks. He has had the #1 Canadian country song for five weeks (and counting) and the #1 video at CMT for two weeks straight, all with his debut single "Started With A Song."
And to those musical accomplishments, Brett can add this stat: He set a Canadian country radio record for most adds in the first week of the single’s release.
