Bell Media Emerging Artist

Every month one new Canadian artist is chosen by a panel of judges and the winner for that month is featured on radio stations all across the country.

 

Over the last few months the finds have been really impressive and reaffirm just how amazingly talented the music scene in this country really is.

 

There has been Scotty James—who was featured here on the Bsides, and then last month there was Liz Coyles from London, Ontario. Think Canada's answer to Natasha Bedingfield and Colbie Caillat.

 

 

And just yesterday the Emerging Artist for February was announced. Her name? Elise LeGrow. Her vibe is that smokey-voiced throwback sound that we've come to know and love from artists like Duffy and Adele. It's retro sounding and it's so good and damn catchy.
