It's been a long year music-wise and every year I always look forward to the mash-up offering by DJ Earworm. He brilliantly puts together in one seamless flow the songs that made their mark in 2012. The official video for 'United State of Pop 2012' will be unveiled on December 25th.

Overcome by Live

Sometimes A Song Expresses It All

Overcome by Live

With every news story I read, every interview I watch regarding the horrific events that happened last week in Newtown, CT I always find myself coming back to one song. Sometimes one song replaces the need to say how you feel...or puts into words the emotions of disbelief and horror and that sense of being completely overwhelmed. This song by Live became the unintended official tribute song for 9-11. But when you break down the song and the lyrics....it's the perfect answer when you feel at a complete loss for words.

Music Spotlight: Dancing Heals

Australian Buzz Band

Music Spotlight: Dancing Heals

Last Sunday was cold, windy and miserable and I found myself listening to this new track on repeat for most of the day.

The song is from the Australian buzz band, Dancing Heals.

The group had made quite a stir at CMJ this year, and have also been heating up the college and independent radio charts across the U.S. in the past few months, including some seroius attention by KCRW and KROQ.

Dancing Heals has just released their newest single, "Charlie Brown"...check out the track on Soundcloud.

The band's unique brand of sultry indie rock/pop has mass appeal and singer Jon-Lee Farrell's voice is smooth, sugary and haunting (and kinda reminds me a little of one Tom Petty). Needless to say I am hooked.
