30 Day Song Challenge

Bring On The Musical Challenge

30 Day Song Challenge

So last month I got hooked on the '30 day song challenge' thanks to a music loving friend on Facebook.

It's as basic as any challenge can get - 30 days, 30 music questions which act as your Facebook status, daily tweet on Twitter or blog post.

So here are the questions along with my answers. It's a fun, mindless exercise in all things musically speaking.

day 01 - your favorite song: The Verve 'Bittersweet Symphony'

day 02 - your least favorite song: Miley Cyrus 'Party in the USA'

day 03 - a song that makes you happy: U2 'Beautiful Day'

day 04 - a song that makes you sad: Peter Gabriel 'Here Comes The Flood'

day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone: Staind 'It's Been Awhile'

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere: Spin Doctors 'Two Princes'

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event: Live 'Lightening Crashes'

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to:  The Script 'Breakeven'

day 09 - a song that you can dance to:  Rihanna 'Please Don't Stop The Music'

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep: It's a tie they are both great de-stress tracks that lull me to blissful sleep: Oasis 'Champagne Supernova' or Radiohead 'Optimistic'

day 11 - a song from your favorite band: Aerosmith 'Ragdoll'

day 12 - a song from a band you hate: Rush 'Tom Sawyer'

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure: Nickelback 'Burn It to The Ground'

day 14 - a song that no one would expect you to love: Rob Zombie 'Never Gonna Stop'

day 15 - a song that describes you: Natasha Bedingfield 'Unwritten'

day 16 - a song that you used to love but now hate: Milli Vanilli 'Blame It On The Rain'

day 17 - a song that you hear often on the radio: Katy Perry 'Teenage Dream'

day 18 - a song that you wish you heard on the radio: Boyce Avenue 'Every Breath'

day 19 - a song from your favorite album: Mumford & Sons 'The Cave'

day 20 - a song that you listen to when you’re angry: Disturbed 'Stupify'

day 21 - a song that you listen to when you’re happy: David Garza 'Slave'

day 22 - a song that you listen to when you’re sad: Goo Goo Dolls 'Iris'

day 23 - a song that you want to play at your wedding: Frank Sinatra 'The Way You Look Tonight'

day 24 - a song that you want to play at your funeral: U2 'Where The Streets Have No Name'

day 25 - a song that makes you laugh: Biz Markie 'Just A Friend'

day 26 - a song that you can play on an instrument: Sadly there is no answer for this one - I suck at playing instruments.

day 27 - a song that you wish you could play: Vanessa Carlton '1000 Miles'

day 28 - a song that makes you feel guilty: Rick Astley 'Never Gonna Give You Up'

day 29 - a song from your childhood:  Connie Francis 'Who's Sorry Now' (it was the first record that my mom let me play from her album collection on my orange Fisher Price record player)

The Dears

Spotlight On The Montreal Band

The Dears

Degeneration Street, the fifth album from the Montreal band The Dears, delivers the passion and soul that has earned the band the adoration of fans and critics worldwide is finally out in all it's musical glory.

I love, love, love it. It's an incredible record.

The track that is currently on constant repeat...is 'Omega Dog'. Think Trombone Shorty, Lenny Kravitz and Jamiroquai coming together in a fabulous hot and sweaty musical union and becoming one...the song they'd give life to would be this song.

Ridiculous good.

But I digress...you be your own judge.

Day of Required Love

Music To Woo Your Valentine

Day of Required Love

So my husband scored points major this morning with my gift...a bottle of Baby Duck (yes I really, truly like the Baby Duck).

Here was my gift to him....a mixed CD of my five favourite love songs (not so shocking of a gift coming from me).

So what are your favourite 'day of required love' songs?
