And I mean that in every sense of the word. I love my hair when I don’t hate it, obviously, because I am a girl and I do that thing that almost every girl does where I hate on my hair for absolutely no reason other than it isn’t something different. All that said, I take my hair *pretty seriously* and I’m quite particular about who touches it. So you can imagine my dismay to get a call that my stylist had left the salon and a new stylist was taking care of her clients.
Judging by the weather out there, it seems like spring is a long way off but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a jump start on the season’s fashions! All my favourite stores are swapping out the deep, rich shades of fall and winter with the brights and pastels that scream SPRINGTIME. It might not be in the air just yet, but spring is definitely in stores and on my mind.
It annoys me to no end that people still think short hair on women is masculine. I mean, seriously. Have they been under rocks forever? There is something incredibly chic and oh-so-sexy about pixie-length cuts—not to mention the proverbial balls it takes to go from long to short. So, kudos to gals like Julianne Hough and Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry and Ginnifer Goodwin, who’ve made pixies among the most popular hair trends of late.
Much like mid-length cuts, there really is a cut for every face.
SO MANY PRETTY DRESSES. That’s pretty much how I felt all night last night, and also like I should have knocked my child out somehow, because he was still bouncing around like nobody’s business come 10 pm. I’ll be regretting that all day, I can tell. The red carpet is my favourite part of the Oscars for two reasons: one, pretty, and two, I can’t stay awake much later than that.
Have you ever heard the phrase “Good Maritime Weather,” and wondered what it meant? If you have, I am here to tell you. Maritime weather is the kind that gives you whiplash as you try to follow the low pressure system across your driveway in the morning—that’show fast this shit changes.
When you’re Miss Piggy, ain’t nothing but the best good enough and the gorgeous Vivienne Westwood gown worn by the most fashionable Muppet of them all is no exception.
You’ll be able to spot Miss Piggy and her designer duds on the big screen March 21, 2014 in Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted, where she’ll be sporting some other Westwood pieces, including a Harris Tweed houndstooth coat and matching beret (swoon!).
Mid-length haircuts are having a major moment right now. From Jennifer Aniston to Julianne Hough, cuts that are within an inch or two of the shoulders in either direction have been cropping up (HA!) everywhere, and after spending a year growing out my hair, I hopped on that bandwagon like ain’t nobody’s business.
Have you ever wanted to see what 100 years of fashion looks like in 100 seconds? No? Well, now you can anyway! This video has been around for a little while, but it's awesome and I'm a sucker for a good dance video (procrastination is a skill, you guys).
I know I don’t need to tell you, but Pantone announced Radiant Orchid as the colour for 2014, and it’s popping up everywhere!
I am thrilled because Radiant Orchid encompasses so many shades of pinks and purples, and in spite of having a stupid amount of stuff in my closet, I actually have very few pink and purple items. I take this as an excuse to go shopping.
You are eighty-six per cent more likely to work out when you feel pretty in your workout gear.
OK, so I totally made that figure up but like pretty much everything else, sumo squats and downward dogs are way more awesome when you look cute and feel great. I know my workouts do my body good, but I like to feel pretty while I’m at it. I even bought a pretty yoga mat because I have a problem and pretty things make me feel happy.
If, like me, you aren't wrapped up in the world of Duck Dynasty, you may have absolutely no idea who Missy Robertson is. That's cool—you soon will. And I'm betting you want to, because I gotta say, her new fashion line looks pretty promising (especially since she has no background in fashion or design).
I don’t know about you, but my outfits have been dictated by The Weather Network for a couple of weeks and the thought of trying to put together another cute cold-weather outfit is almost too much.
Almost.
You can look hot and stay warm while you’re braving the cold weather and the best part is it’s not even hard! Knits, lots of layers and cute cold-weather accessories are your best friend while we wait for the cold weather to pass and spring to save us from the shovels.
