What's your excuse? That's the caption under the now-infamous Facebook photo of Maria Kang, a six-packed wielding mom of three under three's. Even though Kang claims the photo is at least a year old, it has stirred up plenty of fresh controversy.
While some claim Kang is guilty of bullying and "fat shaming" moms, others laud her fitness forte. According to an article in Global, Kang's intention was to inspire women to get in shape following babies. But the effect has been bittersweet for the 32-year-old fitness blogger from Sacramento.
The comments on Kang's public page are largely divisive, with lovers and haters in both camps.
“What you interpret is not MY fault. It’s yours," Kang recently wrote in an public apology, of sorts. "The first step in owning your life, your body and your destiny is to OWN the thoughts that come out of your own head. I didn’t create them. You created them. So if you want to continue ‘hating’ this image, get used to hating many other things for the rest of your life.”
Kang, who apparently has an history of eating-related issues, clearly takes her appearance very seriously, and none of her three pregnancies—or ensuing motherhood—has compromised her mission to stay toned.
If you were looking forward to seeing Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey, you may be sorely disappointed. The Sons of Anarchy star, who was due to play the lead in the adaptation of E L James' mega-selling Fifty Shades of Grey, has dropped out of the film.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hunnam's busy TV schedule was to blame, but insiders claim the actor got cold feet after recent appearances to promote Sons led to a media frenzy about his forthcoming role in one of the most popular novels of all time.
The 33-year-old actor, who had to hire bodyguards, clearly isn't interested in being catapulted into the kind of adulation that Robert Pattinson had to endure throughout the duration of the Twilight franchise.
Of course this leaves Universal Pictures and director Sam Taylor-Johnson in a bit of a pickle after so much speculation and division over casting. Sons wraps up on 21 October, while filming of Fifty Shades is due to start on 1 November in Vancouver. The movie was slated for release in August 2014.

According to an article in the Daily Mail, twenty-nine-year-old Vadim Andreev can turn the average girl into a cover girl, as these incredible images will attest.
Though Andreev mostly works with models and Russian celebrities, he also gives every day women the celebrity treatment for weddings and other special occasions.
"I started taking these photos to show people they can change, be more attractive, look and feel happier," he says. "I believe that every common girl can become a glamorous celebrity. I want to help everyone to see their own beauty."
But not everyone is impressed by his wizardry. Some critics on Reddit claimed that what Andreev does is akin to false advertising. Some uttered that damning word: Photoshop. But Andreev claims the only touch-ups of his images involved correcting the colour and erasing a stray hair on a model's forehead.

So much for the natural look. Personally, I hate the feeling of heavy makeup on my face, though it would be fun to go under Andreev's wand and see him work his hocus pocus.
