Geovin Chairs

How you can win a customized chair for your home

Geovin Chairs

If you read this recent post then you can tell I am in a patriotic kind of mood these days. I recently have had my eye on a Canadian furniture company thanks to my friends, Leigh-Ann Allaire and Vanessa J Francis so I was thrilled when they wanted to be a Wall Candy sponsor.

Geovin is a family company that manufactures beautiful solid wood furniture. They take pride in being a Canadian brand that focuses on quality, customization and integrity. I believe it is so important to buy local whenever possible; it’s good for the environment, for the economy and for ensuring the highest quality.

My absolute favourite thing about Geovin is that every piece of furniture they create can be customized. You can choose any stain or any Benjamin Moore paint colour. They offer a full line of fabrics from Robert Allen and Kravet plus thousands of decorative hardware options. Check out the endless options in the Geovin catalogue.

This, my friends, will now be your favourite thing too because one lucky YMC reader is going to win a Geovin Oval X Back Accent Chair! The winner can choose any stain or Benjamin Moore paint colour and any fabric from their line.

This just might be the best contest ever!

So I know I can’t actually win but here is exactly what I would choose. You know, in case the winner wanted to donate it for me to use in my new kitchen.  Wouldn’t this look gorgeous?

Okay, enough about me and my dreams…….you need to click here right now to enter to win this fabulous, fully customizable chair. And when you win? Send me a picture please!

Good luck!

PS: Geovin is launching a new product line later this year... Stay tuned to Wall Candy to find out more.

Canada From Eh to Zed

Canada Day Themed Décor

Canada From Eh to Zed

Canada Day is coming up and if you know me at all by now, you know I look for any excuse to change the art in my home. So when I saw the Canada themed decor in my latest Style at Home Magazine, I was inspired to take a peek on Etsy to see what fun art I could find to celebrate our home and native land. I found some fabulous prints:

How fantastic is this Canada silhouette with a heart placed where you live? Love it! {$25.14}

This Canadian cities subway style sign is fun because you can highlight your city in red. {$59.33}

Love these skyline prints. The shop also has Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto {$20.11}

These city prints {this one is Montreal} are very cool. They are based on the city grid but are only drawn using vertical lines {$35.20}

This one is for all of you bacon lovers on twitter. It just makes me laugh. And slightly hungry {$20.06}

Although I love these, I thought I would come up with a little something of my own. It is a little silly, but then, so am I.

I called it Canada from Eh to Zed because I am clever like that. If you would like one of your very own, you can buy one here.

Canada Day will be here before we know it. This year we will be on the beach in Nova Scotia watching fireworks. What are your plans for Canada's 144th birthday?

Nice Cans

Crafty Project for Food Cans

Nice Cans

Here is a super easy crafty project to give your old cans new life. I am talking food cans. Obviously. You are reading the wrong blog altogether if you are looking for ways to improve your other cans.

All you need is pretty paper, clean food cans, scissors {or a paper cutter} and double sided tape to take your cans from this:

to this:

How to:

Measure the can

Cut the paper to the exact height and two inches longer than the width; a paper cutter makes this so easy.

Tape the paper to the can, wrap it and tape the end in place. So easy!

Tip: when covering larger cans buy large individual pieces of high quality wrapping paper, 12x12 scrapbook paper is not long enough.

These are great for storing pencils, paint supplies or any other little odds and sods. I love making storage pretty, don’t you?

Honestly, they are so easy to make. You could use them in your child’s bedroom, your office or your craft space. What do you think?
