I recently tweeted my love for Royal Design Studio, a stencil company that has the prettiest designs I have ever seen. I was beyond excited when they then asked if I would be interested in trying one out and was even more excited when they offered one for me to give to one of YOU {keep reading}!
When I fall in love with a design element, whether it's a colour scheme, accessory or furniture piece, I fall hard. I google it, I pin it, I picture it in the perfect place in my home. It becomes kind of an obsession.
I have always been a collector. In high school I started with antique tea cups and saucers and I haven't stopped collecting since. My current loves are vintage white pitchers, milk bottles and silver serving pieces.
Probably the only downside of writing a blog on a website is that fact that I couldn't be on a blogroll and can't have one on my blog. With the launch of our new site, I can now be added to blogrolls {hooray!} but I still can't have my own. I thought this list would be a great opportunity for me to share Canada's design blogs with my readers. I also hope that design bloggers stop by and discover new and inspirational blogs as I did. I found so many new gems while making this list.
Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I don't know about you, but I find it harder and harder to find cute Valentine's Day cards for kids in stores. But the internet is a whole other story. There are some truly adorable designs out there. You can find cards, tags, art and more.
Here are a few of my favourites free Valentine printables. Click on the link with each one and it will take you to the site of the talented designer where you can print them.
I am not sure I am quite ready for this, but my baby boy is growing up. He is getting to big for his crib. Which means it is time to transform his nursery room into a Big Boy Room.
Although I am finding it hard to think about letting go of the crib and the art I made that hung on the wall for both boys as babies, I am excited about the vision I have for redecorating his room. I am in love with the idea of a gray, blue and white room, with a splash of yellow {his favourite colour}.
Blogtour 2012 is about to kick off and it sounds beyond amazing! In case you have not heard, Blogtour was created by Veronika Miller of Modenus. It is a sponsored event where a select group of design and lifestyle bloggers is invited to join Modenus on a five-day trip to an international design destination. Doesn’t that sound amazing?
2011 has been an amazing year for me. And I have this blog to thank for setting me on a path of making dreams come true. As I think back on the past year, so many amazing memories come to mind. From interviewing Design superstars, like Genevieve Gorder, to becoming Cityline's very first Blogger of the Month, it has been a year of: Holy crap!
As I said in a similar post in January, I am not a fan on New Year's Resolutions. I am, however, a big dreamer. And I think there is something to be said for putting your dreams out there. So, here is my dreamy wish list for posts I'd like to write in 2012.
- I wrote this one last year but it is yet to happen, so, again, I dream of observing the styling and photographing of a Style At Home magazine shoot.
Wrapping presents is one of my favourite things to do this time of year. I love the patterns of paper, the ribbons and the bows. This year, though, I wanted to get a little crafty with my Christmas wrapping so I challenged myself to come up with three different ways to use brown paper.
I love the idea of creating a cute and fun table for children at family holiday dinners. There are a few things to keep in mind when designing a table for kids. I recently shared my tips for creating fun and interactive table décor on Cityline.
I think choosing a theme is a great starting point. I went with a Frosty the Snowman theme because it appeals to children of all ages.
I tried to vlog a DIY art project and it pretty much sucked. In a major way. So….instead of making a how-to video, I made more of a how-not-to video. Outtakes anyone? {feel free to scroll down to see the real how-to under the video…..blogged not vlogged}
I am so excited about the DIY projects that I am working on for my next Cityline segment that I just had to share a little peek with you!
Holiday photo booth props are just one of the many ideas I will be sharing. And, seriously, is there anything cuter than a child posing with reindeer antlers?
Make sure to tune in on Monday, December 12th for a ton of great holiday decor ideas for kids! I'll be sharing all of the how-to's right here on my blog too.
My husband and I love to travel. In fact, he asked me to move to Europe with him the first night we met. I said yes and we did move to London not long after. I had already lived in Sweden and loved the chance to travel more. We explored a new country pretty much every month. It was amazing. He proposed to me in the courtyard of the Louvre in Paris.
When we got engaged we realized that we wanted to raise a family back home. So we left our travelling dreams behind and started new dreams: two adorable boys.
I have been thinking a lot about my house lately and the things I wish it had. Things like an extra bedroom, a bigger backyard and closet doors {don't ask}.
At the top of my list, at least this week, is a beautiful bathroom. One that I can soak in a tub for hours. One that has a lock on the door and possibly sound proof walls. Any one of these beauties would do just fine, don't you think?
I recently shared a post about Halloween party decor for adults but I could not let the holiday pass without sharing some super cool party ideas for kids.
Halloween parties are a great excuse get creative with some boo-tiful décor. I’ve already shared a glam pumpkin DIY and free art printable but there are so many fantastic ideas out there.
