I love online shopping. I love in-store shopping. I love online shopping and in-store shopping at the same stores. But I also know that the same stores don’t necessarily have the same prices on both ends.
I recently saw a cute top online and didn’t want to wait to have it delivered nor pay extra for shipping since I knew I’d be near the brick and mortar store that day, anyway. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that in the store, the very same cute $24 top was actually on clearance for $4.99! I scooped it up and did a little jig for the over $25 (shipping included) that I saved. That $4.99 deal is even sweeter given that more than a week later, it’s still listed as $24 online.
The kicker is that is works BOTH ways, and sometimes the $4.99 top online is $24 in-store, and most savvy retailers now clearly state that "prices may vary," and if they do, the shopper has no viable argument.
The moral of the story? Know your prices and check online AND in-store to make sure you get the best deal.
