If you are planning on going somewhere sunny soon—or anywhere that may involve sporting a swimsuit—make sure you try it on BEFORE you pack it. A few years ago, I pulled out my favourite bikini, ready to spend the day at the pool in Florida, only to discover that the elasticity had, literally, disappeared. The effects of time, chlorine, and laundering had left my bottoms droopy, floppy, and, quite possibly, cause for potential arrest for public nudity. It also led me to spend my first day of vacation trying on dozens of new suits and spending a fortune on a new one. Make sure your suit is in top shape before you travel, and to keep it looking good longer, don’t forget to rinse it out in clean water after swimming, and hang it up to dry.
